If you’re a fan of silent film and you can, go see Abel Gance’s 1927 film Napoleon
Abel Gance’s Napoleon, from 1927, is considered by film buffs who have seen it, as one of the most epic and moving movies ever made. The problem is that very few have seen it, because the move requires three synchronized projectors. Unhappy with the aspect ratio of cameras at the time, Gance shot much of the movie in triptych to try and simulate widescreen, and almost no theater is equipped to do that. But for a limited time, the film is touring around the US, so catch it if you can.
